Swiss airline have a variety of ways to travel with them. You can fly Economy which will allow you one case and one accessory like a small handbag or laptop case which needs to meet the measurements required, L 40cm, W 30cm x D10cm.
Business class you can take two cases both weighing at 8kg each and a handbag or laptop case as long as it meets measurement requirements same as above.
First class also allows two cases and a handbag or laptop case. Measurements also above.
Please be sure to add wheels and handles in your measurements. If any case or bag is too heavy it will be checked in and there will be a charge, these charges are considerably high and can be only paid by credit card, so be sure to check your weight and measurements before you board, these will be checked at the gate before you board your plane.
A foldable clothes bag is also allowed on board if it measures between, L57cm x W54cm x D15cm.

All passengers are allowed to take one clear 20cmx20cm bag with liquid, pastes or gels they must not go over 100ml per bottle and the whole bag must not go over 1 litre.
You can take duty free items on board if they are packaged and sealed and must have proof of purchase, this can be stored in your carry on luggage once you have boarded the plane.

If you are changing airlines you must check with that airline that you can take your baggage with you, Italy and USA have very strict rules so be sure to check, especially if you are a business or first class with two cases.
If you are traveling to and from South Africa, then please read the following, Economy class are allowed to take ONE hand luggage to the measurements of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm with the maximum weight of 7kg as well as one thin laptop case.
Business and First Class passengers are permitted to take two of these carry on bags (same measurements and weight as economy) and one thin laptop case.
